Using a Pendulum to help you decide where to move or travel to
I have written about using your Human Design Environment as a guide if you don’t have any idea where to travel or relocate to but here is another one you can consider: A pendulum can act as an energetic GPS, giving you real-time insights on whether a particular place aligns with your unique vibration. I have been using pendulums since I was a child.
A pendulum acts as an intuitive validation tool, helping you check whether a particular location resonates with your current life path beyond just planetary placements.
Validate the Best City or Region
Astrocartography may show that your Jupiter Line runs through Europe, but which city within that region is the best fit for you? A pendulum can help narrow it down.
Example Questions to Ask Your Pendulum:
Would I thrive financially in Paris?
Is Madrid the best location for expanding my business?
Will I feel at home in Berlin?
If the pendulum response is unclear, try testing a nearby city or rephrasing the question.
Compare Two or More Locations
If you are deciding between two cities on the same planetary line, a pendulum can help determine which one is the better fit for you.
For example, if your Venus Line runs through both Bali and Sydney, and you want to know where you would attract more fulfilling business opportunities, you can ask:
Would I have more success and joy in Bali?
Would Sydney be a better fit for my current goals?
Compare the pendulum swings for each answer to see which location aligns more with your energy.
Identify the Best Time to Move or Travel
Even if a location is aligned, timing is an important factor. Cyclocartography will show you the facts but a pendulum can help determine when the best time to relocate or travel might be for you.
Example Questions:
Is this year the right time to relocate?
Would moving in September bring me the best results?
Should I wait until next year for a smoother transition?
Test Energy at the Neighborhood or Property Level
Your Astrocartography map may show that Los Angeles is great for your career, but which area within the city is the best for you? Along with using a secondary technique called Local Space, a pendulum can help test specific neighborhoods, business locations, or even homes before making a final decision.
Example Questions:
Which part of London will bring me the best career success?
Would my business thrive in downtown New York or Brooklyn?
Is this apartment energetically aligned with my goals?
This approach can be useful when house hunting or choosing an office space.
Check for Energy Blocks or Resistance
Sometimes a location may look great on paper or on your astrocartography map, but there may be unseen energetic blocks.
Example Questions:
Do I have any energetic blocks preventing me from thriving in this location?
Is there unresolved karma I need to clear before moving here?
Would it be better to visit this place first before committing to a full move?
If the pendulum indicates a block, working on energy clearing before relocating can help ensure a smoother transition.
Best Practices for Using a Pendulum
Use a Paper or Digital Map
Print out a physical map or open an interactive map online. Hold the pendulum over different locations and observe where the energy feels strongest. You could also use a pendulum board with i.e. different US states to determine where to travel to next.
Ask Clear, Specific Questions
Pendulums work best with yes or no questions. Instead of asking, "Where should I move?" test specific locations with, "Is Vancouver an aligned city for my career?"
Use It Alongside Astrology, Human Design or other Tools like Tarot and Astro Dice (more on the latter tomorrow)
If you follow Human Design, your strategy and authority can also help guide your decision-making. For example, if you are a Projector, you may need to wait for an invitation before relocating. Use your pendulum to confirm the right timing and energy alignment.
Clear the Pendulum Before Use
Always cleanse your pendulum before a reading. Use smoke, sound, or intention to remove previous energy and ensure a clear connection.
